Things I'm Loving Lately: Spring Edition

While I haven't been sharing many recipes on the blog lately, don't fret that I've turned into an immobile couch lump binge watching Grantchester.   No, that's not my style.  In fact, I don't think I've ever been busier, but in all the best ways.  So, I'm going to catch you up on where you can find some of the recipes I've been writing for on other publications (dream job!) plus I'm going to share some favourite links I've been loving lately.  But first, I must tell you about this wonderful book that found its way into my mailbox recently.

Favourites List: Spring Edition

I love these boots.  Pulled on, they make me powerful.  I splash through puddles like it's nobody's business.  And I need them.  Lately, it's been a mix of rain, snow, rain some more and then just for fun, maybe some snow.  I used to love wearing rubber boots as a kid, though I have very vivid memories of getting stuck in the mud and having to leave the boot behind, lying there like a wounded soldier.  Tears rolling down, walking back to the house covered in mud, calling for my mom.  But, like Winnie the Pooh said, "When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure an Adventure is going to happen." Adventures await.  They always do.  Here's to yours and mine and until then, take a peek at these things I'm currently crushing on.

Ten days in and I hope your new year is off to the grandest of starts.  I've been trapped in the deepest deep freeze ever (-50 with the wind really is a thing!), but unlike previous years when I wallow and complain and throw myself into a why-do-I-live-here tantrum, this year I'm pretty chill (horrible pun intended).  No, I haven't been abducted by aliens, but I am going somewhere decidedly warmer tomorrow.  Phoenix, look out.  I'm coming for you.  A combination work-play trip, I'm ever so happy to shed my layers and cumbersome parka in exchange for swimsuit and summer skirts.  Yeah, I'm totally grinning right now.  I haven't had a warm winter vacay in ten (10!) years, and it's about time. I'll only be gone a week, but it's sure to be jam packed with fun times. Who knows, I may even acquire one of those things called tans, says the girl who never tans
